Personally, I’m trying to teach my kids that adults are far from perfect and that, by and large, nobody really knows what they’re doing. The best we can do, therefore, is to have faith in our own choices whilst never losing sight of how important kindness and compassion are.

We teach them to break unjust laws, stand up for marginalized people and if all else fails, we teach them to use firearms that stay locked unless we need to start another revolution. To honor the Declaration of Independence.

But to answer your question, by being well read individuals with critical thinking skills. And demonstrating how well you can navigate the world by utilizing your aggregate knowledge when you and your village cooperate and communicate. I believe that's the simplest way at this point.

By modeling kindness, empathy, thoughtfulness doing small actions of good, and showing them that we cannot control the actions of others--we can only control ours, and we must let go of expectations, ie, ask your friend if they wanna play with you. If they say no... *That's ok*

helping them learn to read people, behaviors, situations, and prioritize their safety above all. A psych major dad and a highly intuitive mom drilled these social cue reading skills in me from early on and I'm very thankful for that. Will do same and more for my son.

You don't get to teach your children those values anymore.

You either teach them to navigate dealing with "the law", or the rich white folk teach their kids that they're above everyone else.

Hopefully, we can keep fighting and bring this country back to the way it was supposed to be after his term

I strive to educate my kiddo, and those in our collective community that the same morality applies to all people but that we live in a world that values and perpetuates a system of vertical morality (a ladder system which REQUIRES oppression). 1/3

That there used to exist systems of horizontal morality but they were wiped out by colonizers and without radical change, we will not see a return to those systems in a world where capitalism exists on a global scale.

… and because of all this, within the bounds of horizontal morality, it is our duty to practice “civil disobedience” - though the scope that “civil” defines is *very* loose because you cannot defeat an inherently violent system with passivity.
