Why don’t Christians understand many parts of the world have different beliefs? I grew up thinking my family was Christian, but learned catholic didn’t count. Why does autocorrect capitalize Christian? Many of the worst people I’ve known were from this group, just like all groups have good & bad.
Isn’t it easier to ignore what religion people say they are, and just look at what happens in the society in which they live. Eventually spiritually and goodness are a reflection of behaviour and choices. Even the pope is horrified with Trump’s choices and his followers put him there
Exactly. the purpose of religion is not to BE THE ONE, it's to bring community and help communities navigate the complexities and difficulties of life.
If you are concerned others aren't in the "right religion," (like that Japan has a rich history of it's own religions) you're missing the point.
That is such a shame: I am guessing that it makes them feel special and saved so they can be superior to everyone else. I stopped believing that garbage long, long ago.
Japan has around 60-80% (I don't know how the numbers aren't more precise, but whatever) non-religious/atheist population according to a quick google search, so technically it doesn't need to be said.
There is always another way of looking at our death: our total cell count is barely 42% human, over 57% microorganisms and such, some which could quite likely outlive us and be ingested by other creatures or people - hence the (partial) reincarnation. Just think of all of the possibilities!
No true Scotsman fallacy. In a religion defined by whether or not one believes in one core idea, Christianity is defined by what people who identify as Christian make it.
I agree that many of the people who identify as xtian do not share core values I was taught as being xtian but +
but I also grew up Catholic in the Bible Belt and was asked if I worshiped the devil, was accused of being an idolater, and had my church call the Whore of Babylon.
Whilst I'm a massive fan of Japanese culture what she doesn't mention is that the reason they have less homeless and less food insecurity is how many hours they are expected to work and how this leads to some of the highest suicide rates on the planet.

You wouldn't capitalize atheist because atheism is the default and a state rather than a group.
I mean, could it be?

Sign me up. I'd love to be where Jesus wasn't the main diet. Sounds .... like fresh air.
