Yes, there are tons of things out there that I have not seen yet and would probably like. They released Dragon Warrior 1..4 for the NES in the USA 1987-1993, so it wasn't *super* obscure. I played the first one on my NES long ago, didn't beat it until a lot later. 2 and 3 looked interesting.

I've often thought the same. Firstly even if you're a literal expert on a topic why would you assume there cannot be things you don't know? Secondly how is it a bad thing to discover more? Especially new art/media related to stuff you like?

I'll never understand how some people aren't curious about this stuff! Some of the best games I've played in the last five years or so are 20+ year old titles that just got translated for the first time! There's always more to discover.

We didn't get a Dragon Quest in PAL territories until VIII on the PS2! We didn't get a mainline Final Fantasy until VII! Chrono Trigger didn't get a release here until the DS!

I must be one of the rare people who had Dragon Warrior on the NES in the U.S. as I remembered playing it as a kid. I tend to find more and more interesting and new titles to explore but have nowhere near the time to play them all. I just end up adding them to my wishlist or bookmarking them.

That's a result a lingering monoculture that think it is universal unfortunately ! The fact that negativity has become the default mode of discourse about video games in the English speaking and mainstream sphere is a sign that things are definitely changing for the better elsewhere...
