Can you get a little to the video? Might be missing context, but if the issue is the SKS imo it's not that cringe. For a long time, SKS was way cheaper than AR, especially a reliable one. Cheap quality ARs are somewhat recent, and sometimes the SKS is still the cheapest option and plenty reliable.
