I actually think the media has been reporting many more of these incidents now, since the tragic case in DC. Annual statistics show these types of incidents are, unfortunately, not that uncommon.

I think the jury is still out if this year’s incidents are markedly different than other years.

Because, it was a very small private plane that the pilot did not secure the door on at take off. The pilot got clear instruction from the tower and was attempting to return to land. Aerodynamics make it near impossible to control a small plane with an open door. ALL 5 survived and NO one died.

San Antonio airport is absolute chaos I tried to fly to NY Friday and Saturday. Got there 2 hours early & didn’t even make it to check in kiosk. Security line was so long hundreds of us missed flights. Didn’t matter because flights ended up cancelled both days. Pure chaos.
