Trump wants something that looks like win for him. Trudeau cannily mentioned in his announcement that he's already undertaken most of what Trump wants. But he had to add some other stuff so that Trump can claim that getting tough works.

Apparently the surveillance plan was in the works back in December, unrelated to the tariffs. It was going to happen either way, blegh. And the worst part is this is a pause, so possibilities of even more shit another few weeks from now just to extend the pause.

Yes, ReportIn runs on AWS, an American company, which is a problem. The bigger problem though is that ReportIn is facial recognition technology. We should normalize banning this technology based on past and ongoing harms it creates.

Say no to facial recognition from any country.
