At a conference on aging and technology, I had a conversation with some VC bros who wanted to "disrupt" aging. They had zero understanding of how we provide care and benefits for older adults in the US, no understanding of authorizing legislation, no knowledge of different government roles.

A good place to start would be to more directly state that "government is not a business".

It may use business principles to parts of its work, and employ businesses to provide some of the services it needs or wants to offer the public - but in itself it's not a business.

It's much more than that.
