How much did you use? I'm asking as the UK price is GBP 50 for 5 l or GBP 20 for 1 L. There are some steel tools I want to improve, but cost will be a factor.
if cost is a concern but time isn't, apple cider vinegar will also do the same trick for much less (which is not a knock on evaporust, i absolutely love the stuff). just be sure to wash everything down with a baking soda and water mixture afterward
Useful tip. Penetrating oil from Halford used to do the job and Lidl sell a Russian labelled spray can, which to be fair I'd not buy now but was handy. It freed up a few stuck BB threads.
Checked the can. It's by Henkel, product brand Pattex which looks to be a German company, called rust dissolver, they have a web site and an old listing shows on German Amazon. Plenty of health warnings on the side of the can. That may explain why Lidl no longer stock it.
looking up chelation rust removal now, both diy, and “don’t be an idiot; [I] know nothing about chemistry!” versions.
(‘diy is tempting! citric acid, sodium carbonate —>the chemistry that’s actually useful? ’Might also be what R. Dreyfus used to make the volcano model explode in Close Encounters.:)

(Word is that it’s perfected the science of respectful-to-metal rust removal.)
