Ozai's kids might be powerful, but that's because they had access to the best teachers because they were royalty. They weren't the ONLY ones who were powerful.

You hear "The Firelord's children are prodigies" and you make the false connection that prodigies only exist in certain bloodlines. This is not true. Powerful and exceptional benders are born all over the world all the time. They are not unique to certain bloodlines.

Furthermore, Azula might have been a prodigy, but Zuko rather infamously was NOT. He had to work the hard way to master bending, so there's no basis for "Bloodline = Talent." Just because it coincides a few times, doesn't mean it is always the case.

I dont think it was malice from the writers, just an unfortunate fact that appeared organically, and it doesnt make the narrative worse or anything, but sow lineage in a story and youll reap a lineage
