i've been playing through monster hunter 1 after being warned by pretty much all my monster hunter fan friends to steer clear and i'm sorry it's just cool. it's just fucking badass. i just like it a lot warts and all
I will die on the hill that stick combat is actually not that bad.
I will however say I wish I got the American experience though because I play Lance in G, and Lance can guard anything in USA/JP1, but skills were introduced in G which unfortunately means a nerfed Lance 😭
Honestly going through Shadow (2005) presently and we love the level designs! Honestly we find the neutral routes to be some of the most fun somic levels we've played yet! Like yh the "get them all missions" can suck, but the core game is pretty good.
It’s usually regarded poorly in part to enemy AI’s tendency to block everything, and Kiryu Kazoo’s pillow fists. They’re valid complaints but I liked the game anyways, plus it’s got evil criminal yaoi.
People skipping out on 3 be missing one of the best villains plus a lot of kiryu growth. The combat is a lil annoying starting out, but some upgrades plus komaki make kiryu busted.
me with Battle for Neighborville tbh, i played it around the same time as i first played the Garden Warfare games and i honestly had more fun with Neighborville
most of the ire people hold towards zip lash is more because of it basically getting the whole series killed rather than because of the game's own quality. had it been released as a spinoff without it being the "last chance" of the series, no one would really care
still, the quality of the game is generally considered to be pretty bad when people do actually look deeper into it, but i think its pretty fun, just slightly slow if anything
The idea that you can "look deeper into it" is nonsense anyway, you like the game or you don't putting a game you enjoy under a magnifying glass won't magically reveal how much you dislike it
Well 1, by "look deeper into it" I meant actually play the game, since a lot of people just reiterate what they've been told, especially with games like ziplash. But 2, I personally disagree. I do look back and analyze games I've already played and realize I like them more or less than I thought
same. it definitely has its problems but at the end of the day it's a pretty faithful remake of pokémon diamond and pearl, which are good games despite their shortcomings.
this happened to me with sonic unleashed. no clue why it had such a negative reputation when it came out, i guess people just haven't played an actual bad character action game so they assumed unleashed had bad combat

And PvZ2 😔
And Assassin's Creed: Valhalla 😔
And Monster Hunter: Rise 😔
X6, however, deserves all the hate it gets.
This may break the cycle. :3
