Not very helpful, but I like both - but for different reasons. The supernova-effect is more obvious in the full view, but I love the colors and textures of the second on its own.

I really like both options as each has its own quality. The full gives more perspective but the close-up gives feelings of great details and could be viewed as more artistic (IMHO).

(Also, when filming dance, go easy on the cutting/editing and the closeups. Show people the big picture: the patterns, how the dancers interact as as individuals and as a group.)

I'm partial to the detail. In the detail image, I feel a sense of motion. Am I flying into it or is all of that flying at me? The leading lines are irresistible in the detail image.

I like the way the closer view pulls me into the photo. It feels more dynamic. The full image feels more “traditional.” So I guess it depends on your intention.

I’m a sucker for abstracts and detail shots. I prefer the detail shot. Anything that lets my mind wander or off I have to second guess what I’m looking it, makes me love it more! This is a wonderful photo.

OK, so I'm not usually a gotta-see-the-whole-flower macro kind of girl but I like the comp in the full view better. The details almost just as close and lovely in both.
