Since we're all reconvening here, I thought I'd reshare some good news here: A project I’ve been working on all year was published this month: Spider-Mother: The Fiction and Politics of Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain (Warbler Press, 2024). 1/4

The book is a collection of brand new translations of several works of fiction, reportage, and essay by the early 20th century Bengali speculative fiction writer and feminist activist Rokeya Hossain. The translations are by my former professor and co-editor of this volume, Ben Baer at Princeton. 2/4
The book includes a series of nine artworks by the Brooklyn-based artist Chitra Ganesh, inspired by Hossain’s famous short story “Sultana’s Dream,” as well as an accompanying artist’s statement. And NYC Councilmember Shahana Hanif has written a moving forward to the collection. 3/4
