I asked my dad, who had a job as what we would now call a Business Development Manager after getting to uni if he still thought of himself as working class. He said no. This is the correct and sensible position to take.

at what point does someone stop being working class?
i don’t like this idea that a sir who is a fully paid up member of the establishment, the prime minister – who has a disdain for working class ppl and views us through the lens of a middle-class ‘thug’ stereotype – is working class.

Other times they just assume their good luck was talent so there's no need to help.
I’m a council-house kid from a teenage mum, raised by steelworkers and dockers.
But now I’m a homeowner with an office job who sulks if he can’t find fresh chives.
I’ll stand up for the working class, but have to recognise I am not of it.
