It's a simple process. You own the domain. Adding the DNS record costs nothing.

The downside is the bsky handle reverts to the public pool. I have no idea how quickly it becomes available, which you'd want to do to prevent it from being abused.

Can't remember where I saw the advice that after you switch domains, you go back and take the original yourself. If that's possible, it would seem to imply they become generally available immediately or that Bluesky keeps a persistent record that you had the handle and knows you want it *back*.

Yep. It's an economically effective way of pretending you have verification, but it doesn't.
You would NOT, however, be able to spoof an already registered domain so he could use https://Bulwark.com to verify.
It's not fullproof.

I think this only matters for people who want some form of verification that they are who you believe them to be. I think it might be helpful of the url's could be a different color so that people know that they are really associated with the person they are attached to.
