I can understand supporting Israel but why are you proud of it? It's just a political belief and it's hardly one that's suppressed or looked down upon unless your frame of reference is solely Leftist or Arab social circles.
I'm confident that she's actually a proud supporter of Israel and also that she makes posts like this solely to farm engagement from pissed off pro-Palestinians. Thought it's just good practice to assume good faith and ask anyway lol
I was just asking why she was proud to support Israel. I don't really care why she supports Israel, I just think it's silly to be proud of one's beliefs.
1. People who claim to be LGBT allies generally don't say this to express anything other than very basic moral and political claims about LGBT rights, i.e. you couldn't infer support for trans women in women's sports or gender-affirming care for minors just because a person claims to be an LGBT ally
2. Claiming to be a *proud* supporter of Israel implies a significantly more complex and morally ambiguous position (I support Israel) than just supporting basic LGBT rights, and it's pretty strongly indicative of dogmatism (unless you'd argue that supporting marginalized groups is good in-itself).
This is how we can tell the culture has truly changed with the newcomers. Two weeks ago this post would have been brutally ratioed and the replies full of death threats.

Hard to talk about since everyone has their own definition. Many act like "Zionist" means being a colonizer or warmonger. But if it just means wanting Jewish people to have the security of a nation-state, then that's not so incendiary, right? This makes the term distracting to use in conversation.
Much of the so-called "pro"-Palestine movement operates on propaganda that pretends like it's still 1948. According to them, believing Israel has a right to exist now is no different than supporting the original Zionists that created it back then.
And of course different factions use it to mean different things. White leftists erroneously think it means warmonger or expansionist (like you said), but globally most use it as code for "filthy Jew". Sort of like how "thug" is code for the N word.
Specifically: ethnic nationalism. The idea that one’s country is only “for” one ethnicity is often used to justify oppressing minorities. Fascists often come to power via ethnic nationalism. Everyone should be wary of it. Israelis should be extra on guard if their leaders use it to exploit them.
