Why has no judge appointed an independent, special master to evaluate and report on 1) actions taken by the appointed rogue personnel of an agency (DOGE, et. al.; 2) whether they have proper security clearance; 3) whether the TRO’s are being implemented; 4) the degree of data breaches?

Unfortunately, while some firms can do this, the reality is that larger firms have large clients that can leverage their account size against a firms political stance. $40M settlement could be a drop in the bucket if several apply such leverage. Don't judge PRIVATE firms who buckle to HIS corruption

Well, I guess if your top 5-10 multi-million clients disagree with your core principles, then you've got other issues in that you've chosen to represent people who don't support those same principles.
I still think the focus should be on the extortion, not the citizens extorted.

As an attorney, I do judge them very harshly. We take an oath to uphold the laws and the Constitution , and we need to uphold that oath, no matter what. Capitulating to an oligarch, is not upholding the Constitution.

You're right, but, as business owners they also have responsibilities & they haven't been asked to disgard the Constitution or break their oath.
Whether they choose to engage in litigation over their blatant extortion is the victims choice, not a public obligation to other lawyers IMHO.

I'm the offspring of a retired JAG Lt. Colonel, Civil Service Attorney, private attorney, and small-town City Judge who passed away long ago. My view is that Marc Elias is a General guarding the bulwark of the US Constitution and American Democracy. Go, Marc!! We need to support all such attorneys.

I wholeheartedly agree. It may seem obvious but given the current climate - many firms may not step into the business as usual tag lines. I hope you are right and that this is the norm - not the exception as the weeks turn to months and years.
