Because they never believed in the Constitution in the first place. They needed to pretend to believe in it in order to gain legitimacy, but now that they are finally consolidating their power, and are ready to destroy the Constitution, the facade is less necessary than previously.

I think for most words do mean something but they are always the bystanders at any given moment in history. Post war world order operated on written words signed by state actors and now we are going back to square one. Wilful reversion 'cause some folks don't like rules.
