I generally agree, but do think there are some counter arguments. 1) the very unlikely but possible extinction-level event on Earth - e.g large asteroid strike 2) space travel and exploration is worthwhile for a number of reasons (we learn more about the universe, improve technology, etc)

Venus is so much more awesome in terms of potential. 50 miles up, it's very habitable compared to the surface of Mars. The sulfuric acid in the atmosphere is also a potential source of water. The gas mixture we breathe is boyant at that elevation. We can also do things on Earth while dreaming.
