Atletico solved this issue by putting a midfielder (Marcos Llorente) at right back and having that position actually be a center back, who still attacks like a wingback

It can be done but yeah usually requires your WBs having midfielder like quality, a tenacious striker, only playing 2 forwards, or Ngolo Kante.

Relatively low value Opposition shots been flying in the last few months (generally). Won’t last but depends when it reverts to the mean as to whether we get a title race or not if other factors remain about the same.
