Sincerely if you've skipped Star Trek Prodigy because it's "a cartoon for kids", you're missing out on some of the best Star Trek ever produced.
It's 100% a successor to Voyager (in the best ways). It's a great jumping-on point for new viewers and a fantastic reminder of what Star Trek is for fans.

Never get into this animation style (same with clone wars etc.).
But i love Lower Decks!
I prefer the first season personally, but that may be because I've seen it more. I've been rewatching it with my daughter and she's not onto season two yet.
If it is equal to/better than
ST: Lower Decks,
I know I'll love it!!!
Ditto for Lower Decks.
Didn't get into other cartoon though
May try it again

I've been a fan since the 80's.
The growing connection with Maj'el and Zero melts my heart. 🥰
Murf is my favourite character because they are so unassuming, but kicks ass in all the best ways. 😁
I absolutely adore her as Lwaxana. ❤️
We know roughly about things close to home, but what of the Delta Quadrant or Gamma Quadrant? They can go there...
Netflix picked it up and released the second season, so both are currently only available there.
I'd say it was pretty kid-friendly tho.
Might pick it up again after doing another run of voyager.
I could use my daughter as an excuse to watch it, but it's genuinely some of the best writing Star Trek has seen in quite some time
Strange New Worlds
Lower Decks
Prodigy
Picard
Discovery S3 onwards
But I wouldn’t worry too much about chronology. With the exception of Disco S3+, they’re all set in “known” times either just before TOS or Berman-era ish. So I’d go with what sort of stories / shows you enjoy most.
