Got around to watching this since the digital version is up on piracy sites and it actually makes me so mad they spent all the marketing on the Red Hulk reveal when the movie treats it like a giant mystery to be solved. The film would have been so much more enjoyable without it being spoiled.

But also, it's probably because they had to keep rewriting it due to Isreal's genocide of Gaza and Red Hulk being all they had left to show for it
I think you nailed it, the marketing sucked all the fun and mystery out of it. We knew what was going to happen, so everything fell flat.
Imagine if going into Winter Soldier, all the marketing was like, “turns out S.H.I.E.L.D. was actually Hydra the whole time wooOOoo~”
That would have made that reveal completely pointless and ruin the film’s entire buildup. That’s this film.
Not to mention said plot twist removes the only interesting mechanic from the game lol
