Stating that we are not allowed to make any negative comments on any social medias. Or we could be terminated. Just let them stop me. There is such a thing in the beautiful country of ours π¨π¦, a thing called freedom of speech.
Costco is a much better example of an anti-Trump company.
Leia that is so true. I work for Mr. Weston. Let me tell you, in my store, they refuse to ban American products. Produce and bakery goods. Because I work in the bakery.
Wait, could I be fired for saying such things about the Westons? Recently they made all of us store employees sign a paper saying:
That would be one of the smartest things you can do. Now keep in mind I do a lot of driving for my business and such but the savings that I get in gas alone pays for my membership and since it pays for the top tier they also send me a check based on the total of my purchases every year
Please donβt make me go there. Itβs scary there. People that are too big, pushing carts that are too big, to purchase quantities that are too big, to take home in their cars that are too big, because the people are too big. Itβs like a loop.
I still boycott Loblaws. Weston will find a way to inflate prices on Canadians during any crisis. He's despicable. The government needs to stop all price gouging during this time.
I would agree with this.
My hubby worked for Loblaws for 50 years, Galen Weston is not to be admired or trusted by any stretch.
I found a lot of Canadian products at Costco. But I will also buy from other countries except the USA.
The Portuguese pears were amazing.
Costco is also ridiculously good with returns. Excellent for the consumer. Not sure about the vendors, though, so donβt @ me if they are terrible to the suppliers!
they are pretty strict. I worked for a seafood company years ago that supplied Costco. If it didn't sell, or they didn't like the quality, Costco sent it back. Period.
I have a Samβs card but stopped buying from them and got a Costco membership. Itβs an hour away, but Iβve been ordering online. I have no complaints and am happy this is one small act I can do.
Will you look at that! Trump calling the USMCA a disaster is a masterstroke of self-awareness. Who knew the "greatest dealmaker" would outdo himself by exposing the real idiot behind the agreementβnone other than Donald J. Trump!
He has no clue what he signed because he can't read. The fact he doesn't remember signing it is concerning but with him being illiterate you could put anything in front of him and he'd sign it.
It's not only a great instore experience, online ordering is easy, and they have new options via their "NEXT" relationship with retailers.
Ever bought a car on the Costco plan? Used their coupon for a discount on service? Easy--and expect to be treated better because of the Costco connection.
We aren't, and the last time I went to Costco I could tell that a lot of us are supporting Costco.
BTW I even wrote them and note and put it in the suggestion box that I was grateful for them keeping DEI!
LOVE Costco. They have always treated their people well, and it shows. It's a pleasant place to shop. I just gotta plan and keep myself from overdoing it.
We just joined yesterday. We live rural so a brick and mortar Costco is over an hour away- but our only other choice is Walmart and of course local shopping.
Ck out the sheets for about $70 - so awesome! Also, Cara oranges and cosmic crisp apples! Youβre going to love Costco. Just donβt go there on an empty stomach.
Costco is what we wish all large companies were. They pay well and provide good benefits. The prices are great. They stood up to Trump regarding DEI and didnβt support his candidacy.
However, should Canadians support any American company? I donβt know.
Well, as a π¨π¦ I have to say this. Costco employs a lot of local people. The only place that isnβt understaffed. If we stopped shopping at every store that has US ties we could put hundreds of our local people out of work in an area that is short on jobs. Who suffers then?
Costco has always paid their employees a fair wage and good benefits. I have shopped with them for years. I'm an American, but I stand with our Canadian neighbors, family, and friends against this ridiculous, manufactured aggression against our closest allies.
Just got back a while ago. Remember, wood for toilet paper may come from Canada. I spent COVID on TP from Costco. Never worried. I have apocalypse quantity now. Not gonna use maple leaves.
I get it. Costco is good. I agree. Please don't over purchase anything, anywhere. If you want change, stick to essentials only. No electronics, furniture, etc. People need to stop shopping for everything other than essentials. Costco is a great store, but it's easy to overshop.
Oh yes and recommend the
frozen Yakisoba! The frozen Japanese Chicken Fried Rice! The fresh fruit, the muffins, the bagels, the frozen fruit and the quiche! So many choices.
Probably 15 years ago, I read an article about founder and CEO of Costco (not sure heβs still CEO); he said he got a lot of flack for refusing to end benefits for workers, told itβll never fly with Wall Street. He basically said screw them, I want to keep my workers. Iβve been a customer since.
I donβt understand why anyone wouldnβt have one. My husband and I shop there for all the basics, we are definitely not frivolous spenders and every year I get a refund that pays for my executive membership. It costs me nothing.
Good for Costco not bending the knee. I believe they also pay good wages and benefits. It seems they donβt worship at the altar of maximum oppression of the workers.
I canceled our Amazon account and opened a Costco membership. Itβs a 70-mile round trip drive but worth it. Also deleted Facebook and IG. Eff the oligarchs.
Costcoβs sales have been up and Target and Walmartβs online sales went down! Letβs keep supporting Costco and all those places that are still supporting DEI! πͺ
Iβm working on cutting all US stores & products, but Costco is a tough one. Iβve spent over $1200 there the last few months without buying a single US product.
Iβm buying everything else at the local co-op. Looking forward to farming season!
Costco treats its employees well. Pays them well.
Has remained committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion (probably why they treat their employees well, they respect people)
I purchased the membership and placed an online order. Got confirmation, then something was vaguely canceled. They wanted intrusive questions answered so I did that, was verified. Waited for order. Didn't come. called. They said it was my cc. I said no, it's solid. The charges were there. No help..
Oh, and the order site kept asking if I wanted to order the $600 of product *again*. Nothing on the site or via π was consistent w cancelled or ordered, paid for or bad card? I'd only ever be ordering online & if this problematic on day 1, it was time to stop. I tried tho.
As someone who's been a member for 30+ years, one thing you'll notice over the coming years is how many of the same faces you'll see at the registers or in management. Because Costco also treats their hires well--retention is one of the reasons for their success. That and hot dogs.
They also promote from within. Everybody starts pushing carts if they're able--a lot of people are just happy to stay at the stores and work the registers or food service so you'd see the same people year after year.
Anyone who speaks of responsible capitalism should be given primer on frequentist probability and then asked to apply that to the number of corporations that have taken the stance of Costco over the past century. So people have a backdrop as their continue their charlatan speeches.
I go to Costco for everything possible. They treat their employees well and pay them a livable wage and don't give into the trumpaloompa culture war nonsense.
Kirkland for the win! Not a huge fan of the supplement section (since supplements are unregulated, bolstered by junk science, and a consistent avenue of attack for health grifters... who are Nazis or Nazi-adjacent), but everything else about Costco... *chef's kiss*
Many of the items I use to get on Amazon I have now ordered from Costco online, such as printer ink and laundry sheets. So far free shipping on what I have ordered.
It's not really. They premarkup the price a few bucks more than the warehouse price to cover it. I compared prices on vitamins since I live an hour away and the online price was higher.
I do online orders with them without a membership and they charge under $5 for not having one. Works for us well. 2 day delivery free over $65, I think?
I bought CANADIAN products at my local Costco in the US today.
One of the items was a bag of dog treats made by Dog Delights. Available only in Canada or via Costco.
Great product, and they were discounted this month. Get βem while you can. And organic Canadian maple syrup.
Costco also does a great job of ensuring their parking lots are kept clear of snow in the winter months which is more than can be said for other anchor retailers
Call them and tell the corporate office you appreciate their stances. The people answering their phone sound happy to hear from you. Let them know uou suooort their DEI, their employee wages and to get rid of Citibank.
Hear me out....you can't buy everything from Costco if there's just 2 of you....unless what you get can freeze well, and you have the freezer space. I can tell you my tips and tricks and products that I love and don't like. Just ask.
Last night was a Costco run. Our store was emptier than I have ever seen it. I hope we donβt lose some good companies to collateral damage because of the policies coming out of DC that are supported by our red states. π€
In fact call the Costco corporate office and let them know you support their stance and that they should cancel Citibank. They answer their phone and appreciate the calls. 425-313-8100.

It's why they'll keep getting my dollars.

Costco is a much better example of an anti-Trump company.
Wait, could I be fired for saying such things about the Westons? Recently they made all of us store employees sign a paper saying:
Reading the labels and shopping in more stores lately.
My hubby worked for Loblaws for 50 years, Galen Weston is not to be admired or trusted by any stretch.
I found a lot of Canadian products at Costco. But I will also buy from other countries except the USA.
The Portuguese pears were amazing.
Genius move, really.

..And their return policies are outstanding.

living alone, I'm supplied till 2028 lol
I REFUSE to pay anymore towards fascism
I shop there at least once a month.
frozen Yakisoba! The frozen Japanese Chicken Fried Rice! The fresh fruit, the muffins, the bagels, the frozen fruit and the quiche! So many choices.
While Costco is a US business, they do treat their staff exceptionally well and because of that, weβll keep on shopping there.
Even the cart corrallers always look happy.
Thank you, Costco!
I have my Costco card :-)
20 years later, there are still employees I worked with who are still at that location.
Iβm buying everything else at the local co-op. Looking forward to farming season!
Has remained committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion (probably why they treat their employees well, they respect people)
I feel no guilt shopping there
Including furniture, appliances, cars and so forth. I also get home/auto insurance through them for $500 less/year than Farmers Ins.
4% back with the executive membership. That pays me ~$150/yr.
One of the items was a bag of dog treats made by Dog Delights. Available only in Canada or via Costco.
