The top 1 percent of income has grown nearly 5 times (4.47 times) more than the middle 60 percent of Americans since the 1970s. Massive income inequality hurts ordinary Americans.

Sorry, but the average American doesn't understand percentiles or medians or graphs because 'em a$$holes have been cutting education funding and rewarding mediocrity with "no child left behind."
So, get your pitch dumbed down and catchy so that it resonates with everyone.
We have gotten to the point that these oligarchs can make more in a single hour than an honest worker could save in 2 lifetimes. When that happens, there needs to be a reset.
We also need to get rid of multi-million/billion $$ lotteries that truly serve no purpose except for the one winner. We've never seen this level of $$$ in gambling, yet "ordinary" Americans whine & cry over cost of groceries, goods, svcs. They've sure got $$$ to gamble away.
Ro, this is wrongheaded. We expect action from you and not articles written from your ivory tower. You are out of touch with your constituents. I know. I am one.

And how many times have Democrats been in charge since that time and could have changed this? I’m tired of hearing what’s WRONG, when Dems have had opportunity to fix this and chose not to prioritize this.
Well because every time a Republican President gets into office they screw up the economy so bad that a Democrat Administration gets into office they have to spend their entire time fixing what the Republicans screwed up!
Barack Obama could have passed a bill ensuring Roe v Wade was LAW and never once tried to. He could have raised taxes on the rich and corporations back to levels before Reagan and didn’t. The disaster of an economy Bush handed him would have been the perfect time to do so. Democrats don’t think BIG.
You don't understand how any of this works in order to codify Roe v Wade he has to pass both the house and the Senate there are some Dems in office that are against abortion, taxes are written by the Senate and the House the only thing the President can do is sign the bill or veto!
I understand EXACTLY how it works. And not one piece of legislation has passed that is allowing trump to dismantle our government, and yet, it appears he is doing so.
That's because both the house and the senate aren't stopping him and it's up to the courts. But everything he is doing can be stopped if the house and senate would do their job, also if the courts stop him. He is doing EO nothing is considered to be written law. The Dems honor the law
Give Californians the choice to remain in a failing United States or become an independent nation. Urge your friends in the California legislature to put the independence referendum on the ballot in 2026.

"I will shut down the government to prevent tax cuts that will only serve as a further transfer of wealth to the richest Americans!"
Then you are not willing to fight.
Passing a bipartisan budget with table scraps for the bottom 96% is an epic fail.
The President and the Attorney General (subject to the President’s supervision and control) will interpret the law for the executive branch, instead of having separate agencies adopt conflicting interpretations.

Because, quite honestly, nothing else matters right now.

Effect began in the mid-70s. Stagflation? Growth of sales of imported autos?
NB: Differences widened at certain moments; flat otherwise.
Why? Productivity? Policy? Changes in markets?
Not obvious how to fix.
