I think the two are very different.The cuts are appalling and very wrong, and hopefully they will do a u turn like they have with the winter fuel payment.Personally I think they’ll save more money if they cut mp’s salary and expenses, get the PPE money back and Michelle Mones yacht,tax billionaires.

Surely you can understand what is being said here? If someone can no longer afford to live because their support has been taken away, and then someone comes along and offers them an easy death - what does that look like to you? Does that not look at all like a coerced “choice”?

In principle, divorced from anything else, I am a huge supporter of the right to die. But in the actual context of the world we live in, the reality of it is that to have the right to die with dignity and not have that be a coerced choice, you first need to have the right to LIVE.

Yes I can understand, I’ve been on the breadline, the cuts to payments are terrible and should be reversed but this bill is not an option unless you are terminally ill.

That’s horrendous and mortifying, but it’s different to a terminally ill person consenting to ending their own life, if you’ve watched 3 members of your family die from cancer you will understand my point of view. I can’t see that happening here even with a terminal diagnosis against their consent.

im not against assisted dying. im against the lack of safeguarding in this bill that allows for COERCION.
