This is either another example of how the Founders assumed a certain level of good faith and adherence to norms or direct evidence to counter any argument that the Constitution was some sort of inspired document.

Either way, if Trump acts, SCOTUS will find a way to justify it through "originalism."

Just like the founders did not put into the Constitution a bar against political party CONTROL of power…which got us here.
