The majority of those who opt to get a Ph.D in science have in mind a future using their knowledge to carry out basic research. How will they be able to do that if the federal government doesn’t believe in basic scientific research? Emigrate?

The power of the purse belongs to the house, not the louse!

Despite that worry, I cannot stop standing up for what is right. I cannot turn a blind eye to injustice. I cannot ignore what Trump is doing to our democracy and our country. Or more precisely, I will not. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/i-wo...

I’ve never seen a dissent like this (on SCOTUS stripping away the asylum parole of nearly 500K human beings on the emergency docket) utexas.app.box.com/s/fkvbpqvf8w...

Lindsey is just a big baby, so there’s that as well.

If you let him in we won't take him back!

that’s right

GOP legislatures in Alaska, Nebraska, and Missouri are trying overturn voter-approved referenda requiring paid sick leave. And in 9 other red states, Republican lawmakers are trying to restrict citizen-led ballot measures altogether. The GOP can't stand the will of the people.

Yes, Joni, we’re all going to die. The point is not everyone should die faster and poorer because you gutted their healthcare.

Next time someone in Congress glibly dismisses your need for healthcare, remember that they have some of the best healthcare in the country. And it was paid for by YOU.

"Where are the Democratic leaders? We should have been dancing on this (the "We're all going to die!" remarks of Sen. Joni Earnst to her constituents who complained of healthcare cuts) two seconds after she said it!" -Rev. Al Sharpton He's exactly right. Where are they?

"Well, we are all going to die." --Senator Joni Ernst That has to be the glibbest way any politician has ever told a constituent that they didn’t give a shit about them.

Every day the news is just like the government banned penicillin because it’s woke

We have a heroin addict running our nation's Healthcare, a Ketamine addict deciding where all of our tax dollars go, a drunk leading our militarily,a puppy killer in charge of our nation's security and a speed freak in the Oval Office. What could possibly go wrong?

The Department of HHS has notified Moderna that it is canceling a $600 million contract. This is being seen as a significant blow to the country’s capacity to respond to pandemic influenza. This administration is NOT protecting our healthcare for sure! apple.news/AHLUW_PqhQ6q...

The New York Times writes about how frequent—and catholic— Elon Musk’s approach is to mind-altering drugs. Ketamine, Ecstasy, mushrooms, and Adderall, oh, my! It explains a lot. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/u...

All of this TACO business is obviously funny, but honestly, chickening out is the only thing he’s got going for him. It’s good that he chickens out on bad ideas. What happens when he doesn’t? Is he going to nuke Greenland to prove he’s not a chicken? Mentally, he’s 5. A child has the nuclear codes

While normally a fan of fiction, even outlandish fiction like this, I find this particular fiction author, while certainly prolific, rather dull as he lacks both imagination and craft, leading him to publish relentless repetition.

We are governed by a lunatic

Trump’s HHS is canceling a contract to develop an mRNA bird flu vaccine, even as the disease continues to spread through dairy cows across the U.S. Make no mistake: delaying the development of this vaccine puts people’s lives at risk.

Now he’s considering pardoning the Governor Whitmer plotters (per WSJ): "These defendants were outside a woman's house in the middle of the night with night-vision goggles, and guns, and a plan to kidnap her."

Lawrence O’Donnell had an excellent exposition tonight of the current tariff situation. The bottom line is that not only are the tariffs likely to be cancelled, but the tariffs already paid will have to be refunded with interest! This would destroy all Trump’s efforts to eliminate the IRS etc.

Remember when Trump claimed the Biden administration wasn’t doing enough to help North Carolina recover from Hurricane Helene? Well, his administration just denied the state’s request for continued FEMA relief assistance. This hypocrisy isn’t just staggering. It’s cruel.

If Trump ends the contempt power of judges with his “big, beautiful bill,” no one will be able to stop him. A future Congress would need the power of the courts to enforce their investigations, subpoenas, and laws. It would be the end of American democracy.

A recent report found that Elon Musk faced at least $2.37B in potential legal liability from 11 fed agencies as of Inauguration Day. As he exits, these agencies are still on DOGE's chopping block or have dropped investigations into his corporations. See what this was about?

WSJ EDITORIAL BOARD: “.. The Trump EOs are an abuse of executive power that isn’t justified under any fair reading of the Constitution. “.. he would be wise to cut his losses before he goes zero for nine at the Supreme Court.” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/opinion/rich...

18 months before a midterm election all the data tells him he and his party will lose, Donald Trump is moving as many FBI agents as he can away from roles in which they detect and stop Espionage and election interference by Russia and China—covert actions historically taken to help Trump politically
