But for some reason (cough - stupidity) Republican voters refuse to accept the facts
It's driven by the idea that social programs are an economic negative but social positive, which Democrats are willing to sacrifice for.
In reality though, they are both economically and socially positive.
Attainable thresholds, 2 option yay/nay proposals, a mere 15% of voters to trigger a public discussion.
Look at that, I'm a founding father now. Also no more lobbyists.

In any case, journalists and pundits do a disservice by mindlessly engaging in this destructive charade.

They should also challenge politicians who self reference as conservative (“you claim to be conservative, yet you…”).

There is nothing in Conservatism that necessitates democracy.
Conservatives have always been an anchor on our democracy. Preventing us from fixing systematic failures.
