Russian Gazprom has announced that starting on January 1, 2025, it will restrict natural gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova to zero cubic meters per day. The decision is allegedly due to the "Moldovan side's refusal to settle its debt for gas supplies."

The particular electric power plan using Gazprom gas is situated in that Transnistria region and used to blackmail the entire country.
But over the last 3 years Moldova has diversified its energy supply so it can have enough from internal and Romania & EU sources.
Transnistria is used to be subservient.
And the only think that is left there are some pensioners.
The active population has left to work in Moldova, Romania or other EU countries.
There is a Russian occupation force of 2,000 soldiers but likely they may freeze to death.
