OTD in 1990 Soviet Union admitted that Soviet Union carried out Katyn massacre. These are Soviet documents with Stalin personally approving the murder of 22,000 Poles. We blame(d) it on the Nazis. We lie(d). Imagine us committing atrocities today & blaming it on Nazis...

Still 0% tariffs for Russia from Trump? What a charlatan.

No comments from the MAGA church-goers? Or do they still blame Ukraine?

Local Sumy media published a video of the trolleybus hit by the Russian missile this morning. There were civilians inside.

Honestly, UK, do it or fuck off. The world’s in flames, and you’re pissing about over the name of the most basic and uncontroversial form of cooperation imaginable. If you can’t even manage this, go away and come back when you’ve grown the fuck up. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

In fact the EU side already renamed it a "youth experience" scheme back in November. Another rename might work politically...

Scunthorpe voted 69% for #Brexit making all of us poorer. And now the hard pressed tax payers with reduced economic prospects are forced to bail out Scunthorpe.

British Steel employs 3.6k people. Coventry Uni group, which auditors say may not survive, employs 7.7k. But there is an emergency debate in parliament for British Steel and nothing for the whole HE sector imploding

“Both sides”? So if a rapist violates a young girl, Trump is frustrated with the victim as well?

Witkoff touching his heart the moment he sees Putin to show admiration and respect is also nauseating. The representative of the most powerful country in the world fawning over a tyrant of an almost broken imperialist nation. That would have tipped the balance of power towards Putin in that meeting.

2024 numbers: 77 million foreign visitors in US, of which 27 million from Canada and Europe, contributing $100 billion to the US economy. A 35% decline is $35 billion lost for the US economy per year, or even more if we compound the impact of those losing their jobs.

This is a very good point that I haven't seen made yet. It's not just Trump that is undermining trust in the US. It is also the inability of US institutions to stop him. And even if you make that "inability to stop him so far," it's already too far to maintain trust.

Agree Not sure what the economic or even strategic case for this bailout is. But I fear is just about PR as it’s good headlines to claim “we saved our British Steel”.
