Russian headlines today cite analysts claiming that by 2042, 80% of cars in Russia will be autonomous. One wonders if top 21st-century sci-fi writer Vladimir Putin contributed—grandiose predictions are his thing, like his annual promises of economic growth and a demographic boom.

we are losing too many men in the war in ukraine
in 10 years we will only have 20% of the taxi drivers we need
putin: thats ok, we will replace them with robots or something...
2. Driver-less cars don't exist even in Sillicon valley, let alone Russia.
3. Driver-less cars are actually horrible for societies, so this is a self-burn, if anything.
Surely they mean CARLESS DRIVERS, as russia's ability to make anything dissolves to nothing.
The only way we'll see vehicles driving autonomously outside Moscow is if they're tracked vehicles.
Simply because there is nothing inbetween, other than totally depressing empty barren nomans land.
(I think max we did back then was about 500km, of totally nothing)
Moscow itself is fun though.
120km/h roads next to parking-spaces.
Easy prediction
But sure…let them approve cars that drive themselves.
So many Ladas to give to widows...
…except the oligarchs but they usually don’t do the driving anyway…and then it got worse…O Russia 🫠 🗑️ 💩 🇷🇺
That’s if they can remember after 17 more years of alcoholism.
(could be, most likely, a German TV-docu, not sure)

Most cars won't have any driver at all.

If anything, I think you are just underscoring my point of the tech being fantastic.

I guess I will keep watching the respectable one. But you do you.
But equally unlikely.
I have seen numerous hilarious videos of Russian drivers in Youtube. 😎
