1. Ever since I can remember I’ve always been drawn to what might be termed the ultimate questions. What, if anything, is the purpose of my existence, of all our existences? What, if anything, is the purpose of the Universe?

2. Why do we find ourselves existing on the surface of a giant water covered ball that floats in the midst of an effective eternal nothingness rather than on an infinite flat plain? Why does anything exist rather than nothing at all? Might I never have existed?
3. And given that we do exist, why do we find ourselves encased in bags of flesh and bones? Isn’t that weird? What happens to our consciousness when this bag of flesh and bones eventually breaks down?
4. Do we simply cease to exist at that point, or does our consciousness continue on, perhaps in a very different reality? Equally perplexing is that we don’t seem to have any clues as to the answer to any of these questions. Is it only me that finds this all really weird?
