I think it’s okay if people act virtuously in substantial part because they want others to believe that they are virtuous. That seems like a useful mechanism for promoting and entrenching virtuous behavior - ThreadSky

Also this is an essential mechanism for discovering what putative virtuous behavior is, whether or not you adopt it and/or adopt other justifications.
