Hope you don't mind if I follow your story. I'm an old time graphic designer about to (mostly) retire. I'm really interested in how UX / application design is going to affect overall web design. Also, there are WAY too few women, and especially women of color in the field. Wishing you the best.
Girl, itβs been up and down. Itβs really hard for me to ask people for help though. I think thatβs my biggest reason for the lows. But Iβm in the process of looking for a mentor now. The process of learning was so much fun though and the community is very welcoming and understanding.
Good luck! I've been working in the field for a bunch of years now and I really love it, especially when I can make changes that make the experience better for the people who use the product
Who are your mentors? Without them, harder to succeed in the trade, it is. Choose many, but choose carefully. Meet and have an agenda structure. Remember, you teach them what you want to learn. Also makes it much easier to find work!!
I haven't started yet but I'll likely be taking a proper course that has mentors/teachers and I found some smaller online courses and helpful websites π
I will! I really like your art π so far I need to double check some more online bootcamp/courses and shift around the amount for my savings so I can pay that monthly. I already found some other online courses and daily challenge websites though
