We don't have marriage equality in this country

So, my options are 'wife and wife' and fake ceremony or go on a government approved list of trans people in the current UK climate.

It's all so unnecessary other than to bolster institutional prejudice. I mean, the whole reason I am in a civil partnership and not a marriage is because that was what was on offer at the time because Labour didn't want to scare the horses, and that was twenty fucking years ago

and how Labour patted themselves on the back anyway, then how the Tories patted themselves on the back for introducing "equal" marriage yet here we are with state-sanctioned discrimination against trans people for no reason other than bigotry
