How was the cooking/how did it taste? I’ve always wanted to try it but haven’t been willing to spend the time and money on it yet.

this is the recipe I followed. not too much different from roasting a turkey. as for the taste, it was my first time trying goose and I really enjoyed it. more similar to duck than chicken or turkey but different enough that it was interesting to try

I used some of the fat in the roasted root vegetables and smashed potatoes I made for sides and I still have a big tub of fat left over. it rendered so much, it's a christmas miracle

I’m a lifelong hunter and for whatever reason, I’ve never hunted or eaten goose. How is it? Similar to duck, I would guess?

yeah it's more like duck than it is like chicken or turkey but it still has a unique flavor. I really enjoyed it

Very cool. We did a turducken this year for the first time, ever, and it was a huge hit. Highly recommend giving it a try sometime if you haven’t already.

My mother has done a Christmas goose twice in her life, it was very tasty and also made excellent soup for New Year’s Day dinner.
