I'm not dragging the employee at all, but I see this confusion about what the Musk administration is doing all the time, so to clarify: Musk wants to fire as many fed employees as he can. *That* is the logic. The method *does* make sense if that is his goal. He thinks…

they have nothing to lose and their brains are so very full of lead, Mr President

look how utterly petite, how wee, how fun-sized these tanks are (as seen in Tainan) imagine a little baby bunny advancing in one of these during the Cold War era with a flamethrower

I want a swarm of piranhas in Birkenstocks

I want to see city halls full of rumpled retired people ready to skeletonize a recalcitrant congressperson in 30 seconds, all across America

““We did not elect him,” a man shouted. As the town hall reached its scheduled end, more constituents shouted questions about Musk’s access to taxpayer data and yelled “don’t lie to us””

I'm glad to see all the outrage, but I wish people would start to understand that elected officials ALSO shouldn't have unchecked, across-the-board access to citizen's data. Like, if Musk won a referendum on this, it wouldn't actually solve the issue.

ok so what gets called "gender ideology" is jsut like "be who and how you want" and what gets called "not ideology" is like "follow these specific unwritten rules and perform these forbidden rituals according to the circumstances of your birth"

whoever the Malaysians hired to write that sick-ass hook did not get paid enough

everyone else also yell-sings MALAYSIA….TRULY ASIAAAA whenever the commercial comes on, right

I don’t know what this bird i saw sitting motionless and perturbed in a field in Tainan is called, but I felt a deep spiritual bond with it

there’s a Tibetan Buddhist monastery tucked away in a suburban side street in Tainan and it’s pretty cool

“A desire to force U.S. military leaders to be obedient to him and not the Constitution is one of the constant themes of Trump’s military-related discourse.”

I hope Mahir is thriving and kissing people

there is a direct ontological through line from me watching Yatta! in 8th grade to Alf Hog

they’ve remastered Irrational Exuberance (Yatta) and I hope it is preserved for a million years youtu.be/JBJtQjykq_4?...

my favorite internet animation, since I was like 13, remains David Stevenson’s iconic “Jada” youtu.be/My_PD9Yf5U8?...

I am very politically active and write/call my congressman often. I have lived in his district for almost 2 decades. I have never seen him in person and it’s not for a lack of trying. No town halls. No visiting his district. I’ve never seen hide nor hair of Sam Graves.

stumbled across the Papa Smurf - Can I Lick Your Ass meme, which unlocked latent, stupid teenage internet memories youtu.be/3srJeD0mJoE?...

Here’s the thing: women outperform men academically; on most desireable leadership traits women tend to outperform men; women are less likely to display problematic work traits; women score higher on measures of leadership effectiveness. 1/2

I'm begging people to remember that 'meritocracy' was coined for a work of satirical fiction. It is not a real thing, and, as the satire suggested, defining 'merit' as a standalone measurable individual quality is impossible.

I’m sorry but this is fucking hilarious, I’m dead 😂😂

Feels like academia - especially in the humanities - is rapidly being murdered globally.

this can really be extrapolated to MAGAs versus everyone else in the USA

neither of us have ever seen master and commander: the far side of the world and we don't really like action movies or russell crowe but we want to figure out why all our gay communist friends online like the movie so much so we're gonna watch it now
