ESA assessment was huge waste of money & time. It overlappinh PIP which is a capability & medically tested

ESA will be incorp to UC as flat rate over limited time (1yr).
PIP annual ⬆️ with inflation. No cuts yet.

It’s also entirely possible - if rare - for a legitimate PIP recipient to be employed on a very high income (and so for whom the uncompensated additional expense of disability would not prove especially onerous). Not unlike elderly millionaires formerly getting the Winter Fuel Payment…
