10,000% inappropriate for Americans to have any comment about Canadian sovereignty. Offensive beyond measure. There is no "two sides" to illegal threats from any country to annex another one. How about "what do you think of a thug who comments he wants to beat your mother up and steal her house"?

A) At least we have the The Truth and Reconciliation Commission and are *trying* to repair the damage. (My old university has land acknowledgements on every syllabus, for example.) Plus, there are many programs to aid First Nations peoples. NOT PERFECT by a long stretch, but ...

This is the right question. I find the hypocrisy of the majority of RW CNDs to being dizzying. I've been accused of being any number of disgusting things for standing with Palestine, but when USA makes threats to us CNDs all the right to sovereignty talk is now the only appropriate response. 🤯 (1/2)

Because I know someone will jump on me here about standing with Palestine: It is not the same as condoning violence against Israeli children or other innocent civilians. I believe violence begets violence but rolling over during a horrific genocide isn't an option if you are looking to survive. 2/2

I do not believe that the end of the American Republic is a mirage. I think it has real implications. The fact that the Republic was always limited in its understanding of personhood and who counted as a full citizen does not erase the significance of its ending — or the problems with its founding.
