None of his words there dispute it. The fact is, they signed up, and that from an idea they were first consulted about (with the same backers) from 2016. This all came out in football leaks.

The Super League City envisaged pre 2020 was v different to the one that the red cartel pushed for and created..the idea of no relegation is very American. We have too many US owners who will ruin the league once they get past 14 clubs...we need a strong independent regulator to curb their power!
It wasn't. It was all part of the same plan - with Key Capital.
I have written repeatedly on the issue of capitalist owners.
But, with respect, do you not have some questions for City's ownership... like it is an autocratic state. I can see from your profile you are broadly left wing.
Sure..I take the David Conn view...in an ideal world you don't want AD owners of your club but they are v good at running it/great custodians..also more exposure to the global economy will bring forward social and political change. I would much prefer them to Musk, who apparently wants to buy LFC.
The evidence overwhelmingly states that exposure to the global economy does not bring forward social and political change. It's the opposite. It empowers these states. Human rights in Abu Dhabi are worse now than in 2008. And they use the club for their political aims.
