Good to see him challenged. Six times he's asked how he'd improve a deal he admits needs improving. All he can say is "we can be friendly". Finally, his response to majority who want closer relations with EU is: "Let's do a deal with the US." A deal that's not on the table. More magical cake. ~AA

"Efforts to keep potentially disease-ridden meat out of the UK are being undermined by post-Brexit border checks." Brexit is an unsustainable, enfeebled position for this country. Its frameworks simply don't work well.

This is so good.

Just a little poll in The Express. You know what to do —> xd.wayin.com/display/cont...

If UK news shows are going to give Nigel Farage a platform to spout this absolute boll**** about Brexit & the vaccine rollout (unchallenged) I’ll happily come back every week to correct it We cannot allow them to rewrite history. If you agree share this FACT CHECK widely youtu.be/MUrf7addcTA?...

Freedom my arse. It was your fucking deal - you agreed it and boasted about - and it was shit, you shameless, lying, self-serving charlatan.

Lord Sugar, "The biggest disaster in my lifetime was us leaving the European Union" "If I was Prime Minister, I would be coming along on my bended knees asking to be let back in" "How do we get out of it? Get back in the EU"

You can imagine my crushing disappointment when this piece failed to include any specific examples of *how* our precious Brexit freedoms have been squandered. Not even anything about how we could have avoided the move to USB-C cables.

Bloody immigrants... Let's see Farage/Badenoch/Tice/Robinson et al spin this one.

This is what I said about Brexit in the summer of 2016. The fact is that the UK state has been defeated, and that disaster is still resonating and rolling out in every direction.

🚨 "Ministers have rejected calls for the UK to move closer to the EU in order to boost economic growth, insisting that Brexit has brought “opportunities” and some benefits for the British economy.” Imagine the shock when they see this

Douglas Alexander: "#Brexit has not only inhibited cross-Channel trade to the EU, but risks making the UK a more closed economy... There was a post-Covid manufacturing boom globally, where the UK effectively just missed out. We were judged to be more challenging to do business with." ~AA

UK food sales to EU slump by a fifth after Brexit: 'a stunning decline' And particularly serious as sales to EU make up 57% of all UK food exports Will all those who told lies about the impacts of Brexit please apologize and leave public life immediately www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Pity Farage wasn’t asked about this - he should be forced to own it @bbclaurak.bsky.social @theneweuropean.bsky.social

Sick of empty shelves/sky high prices? Delays in obtaining your essential meds? Has your business gone bust? Stuck in a queue at the port/airport? Blame Brexit! We need to #RejoinEU pronto! Why not sign/share this petition? There's no harm in it! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

brilliant thread

BREAKING: In an unprecedented move, more than 75 Nobel Prize winners have signed a letter urging senators not to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as head of the Department of Health and Human Services. It's the first time in history that Nobel laureates have come together to oppose a Cabinet choice.

Oh come on Labour - so depressing to hear Pat McFadden say UK has no plans for a youth mobility scheme with the EU. We have schemes with NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan, Iceland, Uruguay & more - only reason not to have one with EU is fear of right wing press. Such cowardice @bbclaurak.bsky.social

Today is a good day to remind you that Brexit was fought for and won by a bunch of right wing, entitled, rich and corrupt liars, helped by a lying and corrupt media, Russian money and organised criminality. Farage is but one example.

Why is the government not capable wiping the floor with Nigel Farage every single day like this? Alastair Campbell effortlessly destroys him over his Brexit legacy which by almost every economic and financial measure has been disastrous for the country

British businesses have blamed "mind-boggling" bureaucracy on a £3bn-a-year hit to food exports since Brexit news.sky.com/story/mind-b...

Boris Johnson promised farmers that “subsidies would stay 100% guaranteed”. The National Farmers’ Union council was overwhelmingly in support of ‘Remain’, but decided not to campaign, as it would upset some of their larger farmers who were cheering Brexit.
