Okay, hear me out: a date stuffed with cream cheese (and gorgonzola?) and then breaded and fried like a jalapeno popper. I now open the floor for discussion.

About 10 Anaheim (or a little hotter) pepper, stuffed with queso cotija, pan fried until blistering, and the cheese is super soft. Served with lots of beer.
Hmmmm what about a date stuffed with goat cheese and pan fried in a cornstarch egg combo. As far placed on a pistachio pool of pistachio butter and topped with a lemon and olive oil dressed arugula salad!!!
My body says: “yes!”, my lactose intolerance says: “People with lactose intolerance are unable to fully digest the sugar (lactose) in milk. As a result, they have diarrhea, gas and bloating after eating or drinking dairy products. The condition, which is also called lactose malabsorption, is…”
We're on the right track but I don't think it should be fried. A date stuffed with goats cheese, a generous sprinkle of roasted pistachios and a drizzle of honey. Now we talkin
Depends on the breading for me. Corn meal, like an onion ring, is a hard no, but I wouldn't do egg and flour, either. I think it would need to be battered, like tempura, but aside from figuring that out, I think it's a solid idea.
Yes! I tried to find a photo. This was about 5 years ago, before they hired a new chef and he took them off the menu. One of many mistakes. lol. They were a huge hit with parties as a passed app. I’ll keep looking…I know I have a photo somewhere.
Whip in some Greek seasonings to the cream cheese and [let's use Maytag or maybe a Danske Bleu instead of gorgonzola, since they have sweeter afternotes, and are not as dry of a mouthfeel]
Actually, I think we need to ask a few more important questions first
1. Is this for a larger dinner party [8+] or more intimate affair [2-4]
2. How upscale are we making the entrées if this is the start point of the evening?
3. Wine pairings are not my thing. Any Bluesky Sommeliers have an opinion?
Can we also mix the breading with a 50/50 mix of panko and [8to1 ratio of all purpose and semolina] w/
2 Tbls of Lowry season salt
1 Tbls fine ground black pepper
2 Tbls corn starch
This will give multifaceted textures to the breading and a wider baseline taste to the crust of the Datepoppers
The people in the replies saying things like "Yes! But no cheese- almonds instead. And don't bread or fry it. Chop it and use as a pasta topping". Like, I described a specific thing and y'all are like "No but here's an ENTIRELY different way you should eat this one single ingredient". 😂😂😂
The replies on this post, and literally any food (or even any personal preference I might have) on this app are insane. It's making me want to give up and go back to twitter entirely. The negativity here overwhelms me most days.
I haven’t been here that much. My people are still over at Twitter . I’m trying to get them to come, but they’re not political. It’s a lot of politics and kind of overwhelming at times.
I'll get the politics in the weirdest places, too. Like I posted a Sylvia Plath poem not long ago because it resonated with me and my broken heart that's currently healing, and multiple people decided it was a good time to talk about Donald Trump in the replies. Like, WHAT? 😂
That’s the main reason that I stayed away from politics on Twitter. Not that it stops them, but it’s not that often. I get god people that wanna save me.
I’m good but thanks. Bye
I complained once to @flynnunbound.bsky.social about how men on social media act as though I'm preparing food for them specifically. Like, I'll post a pic of my morning omelette, and I get flooded with replies like "I don't like spinach" or "take out the feta and I'd eat it".

Either way, I'm down.
When are we making these?

10/10 now I'm hungry
breading is delicious, but being that my relationship with gluten got abusive a couple years ago we'll just have to agree to disagree on that detail.
