I just find him really annoying and he's also just kind of an asshole, but his dislike of his dad is one of the only places where I'll say "yeah nah Jecht's a dick I get you"

Maybe this also fits in with the “caring about things is gay” time period that I know I had to unlearn. “Gay, emo, final fantasy boys” and they were just young men dealing with real feelings.
