Love this. When you don’t have to constantly worry about basic survival, it frees your brain, and your self, to actually grow. You stop living in survival mode and start becoming who you really are. That’s the point.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that there's a lot of overlap between these two groups:

* people who claim "UBI will mean nobody wants to work"

* people who would be told to take their shitty job and shove it the second their workers had a safety net letting them find something else

A Danish experiment gave hardened and life-long addicts... drugs. They'd go to their local pharmacy and get a carefully measured dose of their poison each day. It let them function without the monkey on their back. Almost all of them got their shit together.

This is not surprising, the only reasons people don’t work is because they have a situation that is making it harder for them to work. But people will always love to earn extra money. Netflix. New phones, fixing up their living space. But mostly because not everything is cover and they need $$
