Split pea! The pound cake of soup.

1 lb. onions
1 lb. carrots
1 lb. split peas
1 lb. smoked ham hocks

Saute the onions, add everything plus water to cover, simmer til all broken down. Strip ham hocks, cut up meat and add back.

Salt, pepper, vinegar, fish sauce to taste.
Split pea soup, with or without the pork, is quick to make and oddly satisfying. Top it with your favorite garnish and enjoy!
