To me it's more difficult when it's in front of direct colleagues (though not as hard anymore) if it's like a panel with strangers or so... no big issue :D
Pen & Paper RPG since I am a kid and LARP helped A LOT with that for me :)
As my real self, there's no way. However, if I "become" a character, even if it's still technically me, it's weirdly easier. That said, there is a 50/50 chance my accent and mannerisms will change while talking
Public speaking is easy: just imagine you're trying to convince a large group of cats that queuing for food in an orderly fashion is the bedrock of civilised society
One time in college I had to do a presentation on slides that I hadn't seen before, but I knew a large portion of the project. That day made me learn that I'm not afraid of public speaking but rather I'm afraid of saying stuff wrong. It is impossible to know everything though, that is the scary part
I found going to a local toastmasters event helped me a lot. When it came to speaking to an auditorium, filming myself until the content became something I wasn’t even thinking about any more.

When it's on a working call though... something about speaking to a monitor alone in my room freaks me out
