I used to use MacPaint to make 1-bit art (way back in 1990). Have you found any modern paint programs where you can "toggle" a pixel — click once to make it foreground color, click again to make background color?

That's what is missing today.

Hi John, that's a great idea! let me think about it... maybe you can create a pixel art brush to paint in white. And that brush it has set to blending mode: exclusion. Making this, with every stroke you make, the color will inverted.
