It is actually near Woodburn, Oregon about 25-30 miles south of Portland. I am an Oregon girl and have been there many times over the years. It is a stunning place to visit.
I totally get it especially with AI. You can’t believe anything you see. But the fields are amazing. Best to go mid week. Also weather also can impact things. It is beautiful. Not a good camera, but you can see Mt hood in the back
These tulip fields aren't in Portland. They’re in the Willamette Valley farmland north of Salem, or about 30 miles south of PDX. And they take your breath away.
Unfortunately, the best view is from I-5. And there’s no Woodburn exit. But take the Keizer exit and double back north on the east side of the freeway.
To make a day of it, you could have lunch in Mount Angel. Then visit the Benedictine Abby there and check out their Frank Lloyd Wright library. The priests are very nice.
Sorry you’re confused. You’re talking about Schreiner’s Iris Gardens. That can be seen from the freeway at Brooks, Wooden Shoe Tulips is in Woodburn and there is a Woodburn exit off I-5 that you take to get there.
When I was working as a reporter in Oregon I did a story on one of the tulip growers. It was so disappointing. The man seemed to have no feel for the product at all. He was in it for the dough.
We went last week and it was beautiful! The only detractor was the mother and daughter doing a photo shoot in the middle of the tulips while casually picking flowers, clearly ignoring the signs saying the exact opposite. Maybe the rules don’t apply to influencers or moms trying to save on headshots?
That chick, apparently. It was sad to see, she was traipsing all over the rows and I’ve never wanted Flower Police to exist more than I did in that moment.
Oh friend I’ve lived in this area my whole life. There are no tulips next to I-5 at least not in the past 30 years. But there are beautiful Iris fields. So I get it. It’s easy to confuse. Not throwing shade. Just trying to help. Education isn’t a bad thing. Rather it’s what I do every single day ✌🏽
Education is what I did for years. I also know the difference between tulips and irises. You're arrogant and condescending. Help someone who cares about your opinion.
Wooden shoe is 8 miles from I-5. There are no fields anywhere close to I-5. Not even 99e. Shriners iris garden however go right up next to I-5 from brooks Oregon to Keizer as you head south. I’m trying to help people find things. I’m sorry you got confused. It wasn’t to be mean.
I’m not trying to be, I’m trying to be helpful for those that are looking. I live in this area, for the past 45 years. You can’t see the tulips from I-5. You can see the iris.
