Remember it being a big deal when it was coming out, bought it but didn't play it for years. Finally played it in like 2021 and only got like 3-4 hours in before bailing, it was just boring, not fun or engaging in any way.
I remember picking the happy drugs at the start of the game gives you and instant game over and giving you the line "happy people have no future" or some shit like that and when I saw that I instantly knew it was going to be bad
Have I ever told you how we got the first playable build to be available outside-studio sent to a let's play channel I was on so we could have a look at it and share our thoughts and it was so bad I panned it for the rest of the video

I enjoyed it, but the procedural map gimmick was very much NOT needed. The linear parts of the gameplay were entertaining, and the story was interesting. So sad about the mismanagement of resources, tho.
I got it on sale, and I enjoyed my time with it. However, I am sad that the game tried to do so much but ended up falling flat on so many things. Crafting isn't really fun, the map is annoying unless you use a guide, and the (not optional) platforming was way too bad because of the controls.
This was the Mighty No. 09 for BioShock and I specifically mention how frustrated Stephanie Sterling was at the time with all hunger/thirst management stuff that it became the poster child in her arguments for a good while for exactly what not to do in a game.
I think it was the first video game kickstarter I ever backed? I got early access to a beta around 2016 that my computer couldn’t run and then I forgot about it forever.
I fucking adore this game i am deeply in love with it. What a fantastic fucking idea ruined only by the gameplay itself. AUGH i love love love it and it TORTURES me that we most likely won't see it again and that it is rembered as a flop and not as a stylistically gorgeous satire
I did and I was so confused on how this shit fell off after it released and as a stupid kid at the time I thought it must've been a great game by looking at it. I deeply regret my past gaming opinions and expirences
i remember it being popular when it first announced and then it sorta just fell off after the release, feel like people got interested in the shock value more then what the gameplay was
i remember it periodically
i mostly remember seeing a lot of ads and youtube videos about it, but then it went completely dead
i was tempted to buy it on sale a few times, but most of the comments i read about it were pretty negative
The one opinion I still really have about this game, is they really should have just dropped the survival mechanics, there was no reason for EVERY game that released around that time to have a hunger system that would kill you if you didnt eat every 5 minutes! it was inescapable!!

Never got around to finishing the Third campaign tho.
hmm..that gives me an idea...
Such a weird story and aura surrounding it
No one does.
I like it, but I don't feel strongly enough about it to rant and rave or even really recommend.
