I recently followed @adamcsharp.bsky.social group of biscuit connoisseurs. I’m curious if this is a known good or bad brand. It was served on a 4 AM flight and to Montana. #biscuits

I never eat them because I think they’re recycled to other people after people like me never eat them- and yet I actually approve of not wasting food and they are wrapped so it’s perfectly hygienic… but I just imagine its past biscuit of many months life … and so I don’t eat it.
These are a Belgian brand: the biscuits are known here as Speculoos, which is a kind of slightly spiced shortbread, very popular. Wanting to internationalise them Lotus changed the name to Biscoff outside Belgium. They managed to get them onto airlines which was a brilliant move.
Get a coffee in Belgium and you have a 50% chance of receiving a speculoos biscuit with it, often Lotus. You can also buy Speculoos/Biscoff spread which is brilliant on toast.
Oh, brilliant! That’s the flavor I was getting. Trader Joe’s in the US sells “Cookie Butter” which is a spread made from Speculoos. Thank you for this information.
They are very tasty, and quite melt-in-the-mouth, but I think they contain palm oil, so I can't eat them. If they've changed the recipe and ditched that stuff, I would very happily eat them again - as folks say below, you often get them with coffee in hotels/pubs etc. Great as cheesecake base?

Highly recommend.
