That’s not quite right. Due process means the govt must take certain steps to deprive you of certain rights (liberties). The outcomes are set forth in statutes. While not always applicable (see: arrest), it is for permanent deprivations, so Rep Spartz is clearly wrong.

Besides its hateful tone, this congresswoman has no idea what she's saying. Due process determines if you violated a law. Otherwise how do you know?
